Burj Rashid Posters
graphic design ✶ interactive design (AR)
This collection of three A2 posters is a re-imagination of promotional material that might have been circulated in Dubai during the 1970s to commemorate the inauguration of Burj Rashid. Each poster captures the aesthetic of the era reflecting the artistic trends prevalent at the time.
Enhanced with the use of the ‘Artivive’ app, each poster comes alive when viewed through the lens of a smartphone. This digital layer introduces subtle animations that add dynamism to the still posters to enrich the viewer’s experience and engagement with the artwork. This feature invites viewers to engage directly with the artwork, experiencing a fusion of historical context and modern technology that symbolises the ongoing evolution of Dubai.
Project Goal: To create a nostalgic and artistic representation of what promotional materials might have looked like in the 1970s for the inauguration of Burj Rashid in Dubai.
The posters collectively tell a story of the tower's conceptualisation, completion, and celebratory inauguration, each focusing on different stages of its journey from an idea to a celebrated landmark.
